This is not right. Immigrants will not be able to call the police if there is an issue for fear of being detained for ICE. If you think that’s not a problem, then you are not thinking it all through. Real criminals cannot be dealt with if their victims cannot call the police. This is especially true as citizens have higher rates fo crime than immigrants, per the Washington Post.

As of February the court’s active docket topped 855,000 cases, an increase of more than 300,000 pending cases added to the existing backlog since the end of January 2017, when President Trump took office. Additionally, increasing numbers of Central American migrants from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador are fleeing to the U.S. That means Barr’s ruling could lead to thousands of asylum-seekers getting stuck in detention for years until their cases can be heard.

While Barr stayed the order for 90 days, immigrant-rights advocates have already pledged to challenge the Trump administration’s decision in court, Michael Tan, an attorney with the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, told NPR.

The facility — run by a federal contractor, GEO Group, a for-profit company based in Boca Raton, Fla., that runs private prisons — has a troubled past. During an unannounced visit last year, federal inspectors from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General found “nooses” made out of bedsheets in 15 out of 20 cells. The inspectors found that guards overlooked the nooses even though a detainee had died by suicide using a bedsheet in 2017 and several others had attempted suicide using a similar method. The government audit concluded GEO Group guards improperly handcuffed and shackled detainees, unnecessarily placed detainees in solitary confinement and failed to provide adequate medical care.

A separate investigation of Adelanto and other immigration detention facilities in California released in February by state Attorney General Xavier Becerra found similar health and safety problems and concluded that detainees were treated like prisoners, some kept in their cells for 22 hours a day, even though they have not been charged with a crime. A state law passed in 2017 directs the state to inspect and report on the treatment of immigrant detainees held in California.

The alleged cases documented in the most recent report by Disability Rights California, a watchdog group with legal oversight to protect people with disabilities in the Golden State, are grim: detainees slitting their wrists; discontinued medication for depression; and ignored requests for wheelchairs and walkers. At least one detainee said that guards pepper-sprayed him when he did not stand up and a second time while he tried to hang himself.

The facts:

• He is a legal permanent resident.
• He was convicted of insurance fraud in Romania when a friend used his name AFTER HE LEFT to make phony claims.
• There has been no request for extradition.

This is apparently such a difficult trail of facts to follow that ICE can’t figure it out. He’s been imprisoned for 8 fucking months because ICE are incompetent at best, and outright evil at worst.

Now we see declaring a National Emergency was a wag the dog event to get at some money for this wall.

There are a lot of rules about government spending. I was a DoD auditor in a subagency that dealt with defense contracts, and not do auditing for compliance for a state.

The sheer volume of regulations on how our government entities spend money is a safeguard, but it can be circumvented if if everyone involved its an unscrupulous bastard.

This move is not going to endear anyone to the president’s administration. They are already blocking this.

Because of my professional background, I feel you should always look at the money. Who get’s it, what is it being used for, and what are the regulations for that money. You can learn a lot just by looking at these.

There is going to be a lot of US citizens on the boarder that will have their land taken from them, with nothing but pennies on the dollar for compensation. This is a great article that shows how the limited protections that were there for these landowners, have been dismantled.

I’m an auditor by trade, and always follow the money. That’s the important thing. Here, at the very end of the article we start to see how people are making money on this deal.

This is fleecing of American citizens, and taking their homes.

South Texas Family Residential Center Releases 12 Babies

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has released 12 of 16 babies detained at a rural detention center in rural Texas after three immigration advocacy groups filed a complaint with Congress and the Department of Homeland Security, asking them to “intervene immediately” and release “these families from custody.” The facility came under scrutiny in August of 2018 after a toddler died of a respiratory infection after being released from custody. Nine of the babies released this week are less than one year old.
