They had top folks in the fire department talking up the chain of command at Verizon. This wasn’t a simple 20 minute service call. They required contract changes to get service back.

This is what corporations do when they can. They wait, and opportunistically fuck over anyone, even in the midst of a bona fide emergency.

Quite honestly, I think Verizon should be criminally charged with impeding the firefighters attempts to stop the fire. It’s just so egregious.
